Sony KE-32TS2 32-inch
Plasma HDTV Review
MSRP: $5,999
Quick Take:
The Sony KE-32TS2
is a well-rounded Plasma HDTV. It's small screen size is it's biggest
strength and weakness. Because of the smaller screen size, image quality
is exceptional, with good crispness and color reproduction. However,
for many, a 32-inch widescreen is simply too small for the average sized
room. It's only other real limitations are it's limited signal inputs,
and dark and black color tones that leave something to be desired.
Pros:
- Excellent overall
brightness, crisp images, and color reproduction is very good, like
most Sony Plasma TVs
- HDTV display capabilities are excellent - image quality is reputed
to be nearly lifelike
- Built-in screensavers to prevent image burn-in and ghosting
- Sleek design and easy to use
Cons:
- Blacks and other
dark tones could be darker/deeper
- Letterbox format produces bars at top and bottom that appear faded
- Small selection of inputs. Adapters needed for certain signals, including
composite video outputs
- Size. At 32-inches, this may be considered a small screen for larger
rooms
